A stylish resort and spa perched on the hillside overlooking the McDowell mountains. Found this place online and booked a long-weekend stay for Valentine's Day. The resort is two stories and the rooms have small balconies with a couple of chairs overlooking the beautiful dessert scenery. You face east so will be greeted by the morning sunshine.
We were in room 213, on the upper of the two floors about half way down the hotel wing with a great view. There is very little city noise out here making this place quiet and peaceful and perfect for a get away. We had a king room which was modest in size and included a large spacious bathroom that has a soaking tub as well as a shower, large marble vanity and sink and secluded toilet.
The room also had a ceiling fan - something we always enjoy in a room - and we ended up sleeping with the patio door open to enjoy the fresh cool air (they have screens). It was a quiet and restful night. A gas fire place was also a key feature of the room although we didn't use it as it was unseasonably warm for February.
This is a small resort, maybe 64 rooms so it is very restful and pretty quiet. The have a nice restaurant named Flourish, a huge, modern fitness center a decent sized pool and an adults only, dedicated lap pool. There are also tennis courts and a large spa.
The only knock on the place was that the carpet in our room had a few stains and the screen door needed repair. However, the many positives far out weighed these small defects. The bed was great with my favorite foam bed pillows and I slept well, it was nice and quiet. The A/c was also quiet. In fact the bar tender, Alex told us the new owners recently (fall 2015) completed a major renovation-and it definitely shows!
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or to recommend this place to friends.
While it wasn't inexpensive by any means, it was still a wonderful place to stay.
