Alright, you know what? I loved the idea of Rite Aid when it first came out, a no-lose shopping experience, sort of a nicer Walgreens. Then CVS came along and blew that out of the water - until I realized how inflated CVS prices are but that's another story.
I've been to this particular Rite Aid at least five times and all five times ran into something stupid about it. The layout, for one thing, makes no sense and is a total cluster. The pricing is out of whack ($5 for deodorant? $7 for body wash?). The staff is not friendly and today just clinched it.
I popped in to find a birthday card for my mom, preferably humorous. In one aisle of both female-specific and gender-neutral cards, there was one (ONE) funny mom-specific card option. One. The rest were schmaltzy, flowery cards totally lame for the occasion. If I wanted a birthday card for a female, I would have had to purchase one of the insanely many Viagara/boobs/porn/dick joke-themed offerings. Seriously? Mom's cool and funny but she's not a 20 year old college student.
It's the closest convenient store to my house so I know I'll return but I really won't want to.
