  • While my family loved the old castle, the experience was ruined by the crush of school groups that ran amok from one end to the other. It was a complete zoo, which totally ruined the experience. I purchased a Toronto City Pass, that included admission to Casa Loma. When we arrived, I charged $10 to park, which I had hoped the City Pass would have included, but it does not. The line to the ticket office was long and took us at least 30 minutes before we could procure our City Pass booklet. Casa Loma is beautiful, but was completely overwhelmed with middle school aged school children running, stomping, jumping and screaming everywhere. There was not one place in the castle that these children were not set free to do as the wished. I've been to many museums all over the US and Canada, but this by far the worst experience I've ever had trying to navigate or otherwise enjoy the venue. I'm not sure if this is normal, or if we caught Casa Loma on a bad day, which I doubt it, since the castle is damaged in areas from overuse and it is littered with graffiti. The path to the tower and the tower itself has been defaced by graffiti, which cheapens the castle's grandeur. I lay the blame at the operators of Casa Loma who allowed the castle to be filled to overflowing with children from school field trips and tourists. The museum needs to implement some kind of timed-entry or limit the amount of visitors to the castle. Until Casa Loma gets this problem under control, I recommend skipping this attraction.
