| - There is no way this should be listed as the #1 in the Burg. (As listed on other rated websites) Not even close! Now with that said, I have waited to see if perhaps my first experience was just an off day. However, I have now been to Pointe Brugge Cafe on 3 separate occasions and I can honestly say the place is sadly over rated. Don't get me wrong, the food is actually decent, but not worthy of the position it currently holds as #1. (On other various websites) The first visit I had the seared scallop special and my coworker had the lamb ragout. The scallops, (there were 3) were tasty, but I have had better. They were just missing something. I couldn't quite figure out what they needed, but they were lacking in flavor. The lamb was also, just OK. Nothing special. On my second visit, I had the burger and steak frites aka fries. The burger was again, just OK. I wished the bun was a bit softer, but I have to say the fries were EXCELLENT. I don't usually eat fries, but these were worthy of being labeled as some of the best. The 3rd visit, I tried the french dip and shared a salad. Again, the roll was too hard and I do NOT like the slaw that comes with the sandwiches either. Bland. Service is usually attentive and friendly. Three times was not a charm. Summary: I won't go out of my way to go back here, but won't refuse a lunch date with the girls. It would certainly not be "my" first choice.
