Two close friends of my sisters and I live a few blocks from 'The Junction' so we normally go around this area whenever we go on food runs (normally Domino's though I would really love to try all of the other restaurants in the area). We stumbled upon this place on our way to No Frills when we were waiting for our pizza orders to be made. I dont quite remember what drew us in, because there's atleast 2 other gelato/ice cream cafes on that strip, but it may have something to do with their cannolis (which we didnt end up getting) lol.
It's a lovely little shop with an adorable interior (which I'm sure hipsters (will) love). I dont usually have gelato so I am not quite sure how different and unique their flavours are compared to other shops, but the ones that I did have were excellent! I'm guessing they only usually do one flavour per cone/cup but it seems like they'll be more than happy to give you another one, granted that the other is almost out, which is what happened with my order! I had salted caramel and mocchacino (the girl behind the counter offered it to me since she heard me debating between the two and it was almost done. Yeay!). Both flavours individually are quite good, but together? Oh my goodness gracious! The lightness of the SC and the dark creaminess of MC mixes and compliments each other so well. My friend got pistachio and one of my sisters got Nutella and both are also quite excellent!
This place is a great little find, and I would love to go back and actually try their scrumptious looking cannolis. For just almost $4 a cone/cup (regular cone is free, waffle is additional), this is a great way to cool off during our summer months!
