| - Went to Scarpetta for Winterlicious this year. I did dine there previously yet my review is still the same- just okay.
For my starter I go the Braised Short Beef Ribs- these were real good, fall off of the bone and delicious, however the risotto that came with it was not that great. It was just fine. If they just gave me the beef, I would have enjoyed it so much more.
My second course was the Organic Chicken. The first breast it came with was amazing. The crispy layer on time is a wonderful touch. However when it came the my second and third piece it seemed like the end bites were undercooked and were very chewy and slimy...had to force it down.
The last part was dessert. I had the Coconut Panacotta. Let me say this was tres yummy. It also came with a coconut ice cream which was equally as good. This was the high light of the meal.
The atmosphere at Scarpetta is very snooty. I mean the price tag matches it, when I went their last time my meal cost $100 + tip, Winterlicious helped me dine with half the price tag! Service was decent. The waiter forgot my drink and admitted he did, also I originally asked to change my reservation, they stated it couldn't be done, yet when I was there it wasn't packed, there were multiple tables so they could have switched it for me. Also, I was sat at a pretty not so hot table, I mean cut me some slack, its not packed there give me a good table.
So based on all of those factors its a 3. Had they switched my reservation, brought me my drink, and had a tad better food, they would be a 4, but they didn't
