| - My lease is up in March, and I cannot wait until I can move out.
Whenever I see people walking with the staff, viewing the apartments, I am tempted to warn them of the horrendous experience that await if they choose to live here. When the staff tries to be friendly with me- an obvious tool of deception to lure the potential renter (the prey), it makes me cringe.
As the end of the year approached, I became so excited about being able to leave this place that I gave my notice of intent to vacate over a month earlier than required. I tried to be as courteous as possible by delivering a hard copy of my notice by hand, emailing a soft copy for records, filling out and signing their form, and scheduling an inspection for 3/22 in advance.
I'd already left a bad review on yelp. I was just ready to put this horrible experience behind me. That is, until this morning.
When I opened my door to leave for work, I noticed a crumpled up piece of paper in front of my door with my apartment number on it. This was not out of the norm, just their typical, highly unprofessional method of communication. When I opened the piece of paper, I was unpleasantly surprised to find a notice for a scheduled inspection on 12/30 (today is 12/29). The "2-day notice" was dated 12/27. On the bottom of the document were two check boxes: hand delivered, and sent by certified mail. Neither were checked, however, somebody had kindly scribbled in the date of 12/27 and my name in the blank space I assume is reserved for recipient's (my) signature. This is the kind of corruption I want to warn all potential residents to be aware of. You can see the notice and my email chain in the photos.
Apparently, the owners are renovating some units and are practicing their right to enter the apartment they own for "budgeting purposes." After the experience I've had living here, and having read the reviews from previous tenants receiving unexplainable charges upon move out, I won't be surprised if these crooks try to renovate the apartment on my dime.
DO NOT SIGN THE LEASE HERE.
