| - I've used this N Stephanie St location several times in the past couple years, so I intentionally came back to them this time, even though it was about 15 minutes out of my way. I arrived at about 3:15PM on a Friday. The "OPEN" sign was lit, their Express Smog van was parked just to the left of the business, with a window down, and what I assume to have been the employee's old pickup truck, with windows down, was parked on the other side of the van, but the building's door was closed.
I pulled-up as-usual & waited for a minute. No one came out, so I knocked on the door & waited. No answer. I stood around for a couple more minutes before I left.
Unless the service tech was keeled-over dead or dying inside the shack, I assume he or she was nearby, going to the bathroom, getting some food, or whatever, but I had eyes-on the structure for a total time of almost 10 minutes, and no one was around during that time.
If the service tech needs to go on a break, that's perfectly understandable -- but leave a ^%$#* sign on the door stating you'll be back in 5 or 10 minutes, and try to keep an eye on the place, so if a customer does show-up, you can come back out or at least yell that you'll be back in a few min. I would have been fine with that.
But based on you wasting my time & mileage yesterday afternoon, I am very happy to spend some of my time today giving an honest report of my experience, and I will not come back to your business because I simply can't trust that your business will actually be open during your posted business hours.
As it was, I went to the nearby Jiffy Smog on American Pacific Drive, and had my smog check completed in less time than I wasted standing around at this Express Smog location looking/waiting for an employee.
