Sequence of events:
Received delivery of a sofa we purchased from Ashley on 7/2/14.
Within a month noticed color from our clothes was transferring to sofa. It is apparent that the protective coating we paid for did not happen.
In addition, the sofa already looks shabby and run down. We are senior citizens, no pets, no kids. We take care of our stuff. If it looks like this already, imagine what it will look like a year from now.
Mid August we went back to the store to speak to the manager. He was spineless and could only say that he had no call in the matter but customer service had all authority to deal with us. Poor, cowardly customer relations by the manager.
We were given a date of 9/10/14 for a technician to come to our home to inspect. He came and agreed with our assessment. We immediately contacted customer service to discuss a return and refund. Customer service was totally clueless, unresponsive and appeared to be reading from a script. Obvious lack of concern for a customer and did not care.
We have called Ashley HQ in Wisconsin, notified the BBB, and have put the purchase under dispute.
DO NOT, DO NOT deal with these non-customer service people and this company. Shoddy business practice and absolutely no concern for the customer. AND, there was no concern about us not getting the protective spray the we paid for.
