| - Passed by this Cabin In The Woods at least 100 times. It is an intriguing looking structure and there isn't one tree or forest for miles around. It doesn't fit into the mess that is parts of Boulder Highway.
The parking lot used to be dark and scary but they finally lit it up so you can tell whether or not they are open. A well lit marquee advertises Karaoke a few nights a week. So last night I finally checked it out.
As I opened the doors , A WALL OF stale smoke hit my face SO HARD, it almost knocked me backwards out the doors. (I hate smoking in casinos, bars etc.) Music was blaring, the speakers were raspy and someone was singing Cabaret.
The cabin interior looked worn and in need of some TLC. There were two forlorn pool tables, some bar tables and an area people tried to entertain the smoky crowd. A bar sat on the far side of the room, with one TV screen, and antique chatchkies perched on shelves above our heads, ( an old oil can?)
A lady named Frog made me a paper flower from tissue paper, another woman told me to sing from my heart but after an hour of smoke inhalation, A glass of water and sprite, I was never called to sing and everyone who tried to sing made it very painful to continue sitting there and breathe in smoke.
The Karaoke host needs to concentrate on his job, smoke less, stop calling your friends up there and have a system to allow newcomers to sing too....you kept calling the bartender up....in addition the speakers are blown and need to be replaced.
I'm a paying customer , the bartender can sing after we have gone. You lost two potential future customers by being a terrible host!
The management needs to open the doors and air that place out, get some fans or filters for your non-smoking guests.
