I took my mom here for lunch for her birthday. We were seated outside on the cute, retro-inspired patio on couches in front of a pretty fireplace. It was a bit windy out so the fire made it very comfortable. For an appetizer we ordered oysters and they were fabulous, I mean REALLY good - beautifully presented, large and very fresh. With the oysters we had two glasses of the Riesling which is what my mom preferred. Generally, I find Rieslings too sweet but this one was quite good and had a strong apple finish.
For my entree I had the chopped salad with chicken, which was recommended as the most popular. It was adequate and fresh but I found the flavor a little lacking. It needed some zing - maybe some spice in the dressing or something sweet like dried cranberries? After lunch, the waitress (who was friendly but not overbearing) brought out a chocolate mousse with ice cream with Happy Birthday written in chocolate sauce for my mother. She really loved it and commented several times that it was the best lunch she'd had in years.
I should add that making my mother happy is NOT easy, especially when it comes to customer service, so I was very pleased with the whole experience. I am looking forward to visiting again for a steak and some of the yummy sounding cocktails I was unable to try on this visit!
