Made a reservation for 5 at the Chef's Table for a special occasion. They confirmed it was available and I provided my cell number.
We arrive on time and were told that someone else had reserved the table with a $100 deposit. They even admitted that they made the reservation after us. If they had the courtesy to call my cell to ask for a deposit I would have happily provided a CC#. They didn't even have the common courtesy to call to inform us that the requested table was no longer available.
Obviously they assumed that once we paid for a cab ride, we wouldn't leave (and we didn't as it was getting late). Manager was totally indifferent, informing us that the other party paid a deposit. But he couldn't explain why we weren't asked for a deposit when we called first or why we weren't called after they changed our reservation - just stood there with a stupid look on his face.
As others have said - poor service. Clearly more interested in maximizing revenue at the expense of customer service. Food was so - so. Some dishes really good, some no so much. Avoid this place - mush better choices in the area.
