Hello,
I am a military veteran and a medically retired Federal employee.
I am in desperate need to bring the people of Phoenix's attention to the apparent credit report scams being conducted at Bill Luke on W. Camelback Rd.
My wife and I went into Bill Luke on 5/25/2017 with a pre-approved loan through USAA Federal Savings Bank, for the amount of $70,000.00. The loan was funded, I provided a down payment, and provided a tracer action number confirming transaction of sent payment to Bill Luke's banking account with Compass Bank. Despite these confirmations the dealership is refusing to release the vehicle to my wife and I. They are insisting that we complete a credit application as a contingency/back-up plan. I would understand if I was seeking credit approval, however I already had in-hand guaranteed funds.
During completion of the sales contract the salesman Marshall Brady attempted to use a credit application to obtain our information to submit an "O-fact report". He stated that they wouldn't run a credit report. I asked they please provide an "O-fact" application and I would gladly sign it. He could not provide the requested document. I therefore struck through the legal disclosures for the credit application and scribed that this was for the "O-fact report" only. This caused a stir as they were going to refuse to process the sale of the vehicle. Only after management interceding did the sales continue.
We believe that due to the fact that we would not finance through Bill Luke nor do a backup credit application they are refusing to release the vehicle. Upon investigating further today (5/27) with Rick Lepowskee (unsure spelling) he offered to release the vehicle if we would come in and file a copy of our credit report and fill out a credit application. At this time I am paying interest for a vehicle I have not received, and that I placed a $3,000 down payment on.
Do NOT fill out a credit application with this dealership, do not sign one form that is not intended for the action they are suggesting, and do not do a contingency/back up application as multiple hits on your credit only justify them giving you a lower rating resulting in a higher interest
