Horrible service and rude representative by the name of Dave.
We ran into a large concrete pole by accident and took the car in for repair on Nov 26, 2012 and was told it would be done in a week or so. It actually took them THREE WEEKS and they even forgot to replace the front light and put our fender back.
They have a co-pay policy which allows us to rent a car from Enterprise for only $8 a day. We were delighted because we needed to use a car on a daily basis for work. We never rented a car before and never got our car fixed with Gerber (it was recommended to us by our insurance company, Infinity). Now when the car is not done by the time they said it would, we were only informed that we can continue to use the rental car. No one said we'd have to pay the full rental price from then on nor when our car would be fixed by. We thought it's their mistake for taking a long time to do their job and it's probably their policy to guarantee customer satisfaction and continue co-paying for our rental car. We thought Gerber and Enterprise are partner companies, so Gerber actually doesn't have to pay the full price anyway.
We were shocked to find out that our car rental came up to be almost 700 dollars! (Gerber only pays for 6 days). When we called Enterprise, they said they would check with Gerber but it literally took them forever, so we also called Gerber to see what was going on. This guy, Dave, was extremely rude and accused us of trying to take advantage of the company when we were not informed of these things. We pressed on and asked where is this 6-day co-pay policy written because we don't remember being informed both by word or in writing. He only said we should be informed and that he can see it on his "screen". He even mentioned that this co-pay period is generally for 5 days and that we're lucky we got 6 days. WTF?! It's very frustrating because when we went to Gerber to ask them to put our fender back and replace the front light, we also asked another representative just to make sure that we are being subsidized for car rental for the whole repair period and she said yes.
We don't know if we were being deceived or that there was a misunderstanding somewhere but we're certain of Gerber's extremely poor service and that we'd NEVER recommend it to anyone.
*we also realized later that they didn't fix our leaking windshield washer reservoir and our hydraulic hood prop, which doesn't stay up anymore.
