  • I remember when PNC Park opened in 2001.. it was a big deal!! I have visited the park countless times for pirate games and a blast every single time. It's really an adventure every time. From the moment you enter the park you are greeted with a smile by the staff.. and just feels like " its going to be fun night!" There isn't a bad seat in the park either! The view of Pittsburgh is just breathtaking! It always makes me proud to be a "yinzer". I never get tired of the view! Tickets are affordable too. and even if you aren't a baseball fan.. its still fun to experience. Have a hard time walking or getting around... take he elevator instead of the stairs.. I enjoy the convenience of the many restrooms located throughout the park AND not difficult to find a beer/beverage vendor within a short distance. The food is decent at the park - plenty to choose from - Primanti Brothers, Quaker Steak to name a few. I tried a Gyro from Papa Dukes Gyro stand in the park - it was average. The prices are definitely above average and typical for a ball park. The Skull Bar is fun and great if you want some "adult" time - while enjoying a tasty beverage. While at a game this past weekend.. our seats were in front a row of kids that were banging water bottles on the back of our chairs. The adults that were present didn't do anything.. as it persisted. It was like being on an airplane seated in front of kid kicking your chair. It was so nice to escape to the skull bar and just relax with other "adults" and watch the game! Helpful tip: You are "permitted" to bring 1 bottle water in per person into the park - as long as its sealed/not opened. Parking around the park is always costly when there is a game. I have found the cheapest is the West General Robinson Garage. It's a few blocks walk to the park but worth it to save $5 or $10 bucks. On the nights when there is "not" a game.. parking was like $5.00!~! Theres so much more to the park that I have yet to explore... can't wait!
