| - My partner and I used to love going here our first summer in Toronto when we lived just north of the Danforth. It was simple and consistent if you wanted a few pints and nachos (which had lettuce on them at the time, which we loved). We especially enjoyed our regular table inside just at the open window, so it was like having the benefit of sitting inside and outside at the same time. After living away for awhile again, we got to visit here again recently on a gorgeous Saturday in July for breakfast, and stopped in for nostaglic purposes. We were the first customers of the day and took our regular table again which was nice. The place has been slightly done over inside, with now less of a sports bar feel (although it still has at least one big projection screen), and more of a basic bar/almost family restaurant feel. Still about ten tables on the patio, a large bar in the center of the main dining area, booths down the sides toward the back. We never sat in the back, but I know there's a small basketball game where you can throw the ball around, as well I think a pool table and maybe something else. Bathrooms in the basement.
Service is basic, friendly.
This visit we both tried the eggs benedict and were satisfied. I had mine customized with spinach and tomato (meatless). Quite standard.
Although there's nothing special about the place, I'd go back anytime.
