| - I have had two chances to try out this hospital and I have been very satisfied with both experiences.
I had an umbilical hernia repair done yesterday and every part of the OR experience was exceptional. I appreciated the kindness of the woman doing my pre-op paperwork, the humor and skill of the nurse doing my pre-op blood work, the calm reassuring nature of the nurse who prepped me for surgery while I was on edge, the kind and extremely good CRN, Jed, who did my anesthesia- I fell asleep so peacefully and barely had pain afterwards, and my amazingly skilled surgeon, Dr Laurel Blair, who sewed me up so nicely that I could even go out in a bikini and people wouldn't know I just had surgery. I seriously could not have had a better experience. People were so compassionate and good at their jobs. Everyone took the time to answer my questions and took my concerns seriously. I was terrified of surgery and especially of being put to sleep since I have some medical trauma from childhood, but I honestly would go back and do it all over again with so much less fear because of how well I was treated. Thank you to everyone who helped care for me and did such a good job managing my pain and nausea! I also appreciate the humanity and kindness which was show to me. 5 stars for the OR!
I also want to write a review for my experience giving birth at this hospital, 5 months ago. I want to give a shout out to Dr Brown, my anesthesiologist, who was such a nice man, and made my pain disappear, like magic! I also had the best midwife, Laura Pearson- her positive attitude and kindness was like a breath of fresh air, every time she entered the room. I had such a peaceful birth experience thanks to her. My baby and I were taken care of and all the nurses were sweet. Please bring your own food or send your partner out to get some from the many places nearby bc the food is inedible lol. The baby photographer that came to our room was pretty awesome- she took some really sweet pictures (Bella Baby Photography). I recommend bringing a cute blanket or outfit for your baby for the photos and maybe a simple dress you can slip on and some mascara so you can feel pretty too. The only thing that didn't go as planned was the birth tub I requested - I was quite disappointed that they didn't let me use it (due to being short staffed) as I know I could have had my birth without an epidural if I could have labored in the tub. They also lost my registration paperwork, so I had to go through all that in triage, while in active labor, which sucked. 4 stars overall for labor and delivery.
