Xenxen Sanctuary is located right next door to Xcycle. There is no door handles on the doors that go into the sanctuary, so you'll have to enter through Xcycle which is where I had to sign in anyway. My friend and fellow yelper Stefany V. asked if I wanted to join her here for yoga and I was all in! When we arrived there was a friendly employee who showed us the check-in list for our class and then we headed to put our belongings in a locker. The lockers seem roomy enough and they have chargers inside for your phone which is a nice touch. Looking around I noticed inside looked clean and had a fresh smell, both important to a place like this.
XenFit with Shannon - So, turns out that I would not be doing yoga this day lol. I walk into the class and the instructor laughs when my friend and I say we are excited to try her yoga class out. She says "this isn't yoga it's a fitness boot camp" and naturally my jaw dropped a little. She said we'd need 2 sets of weights, a block and some other stuff all provided by the sanctuary and that we could help ourselves to get it. I only brought my yoga mat, towel and water, so I was happy and thankful that this stuff needed for the class was provided. She also asked that we at least stay and give it a shot and I'm not a quitter, so I agreed to stay. Also it's important to mention this class is in a heated room, so bring lots of water and a towel or two. This class kicked my ass for sure and lived up to the "boot camp" name. There was constant moving and use of the weights. This sure wasn't the class I thought I signed up for and I am not sure a heated room is for me, but I am glad that I tried something different.
After class it felt so good to walk outside of the room and feel the cool air. Then I saw a guy with a basket filled with rolled up ice cold towels. A mirage? Nope! These cooling towels complete with essential oils was a nice touch and much appreciated. They offer a variety of classes here and you can check their schedules and pricing online.
