  • I went to Phoenix last week with the family for spring break. I travel for work and prefer to use National for the convenience of grab and go. Getting to the National in Phoenix and having Emerald status we went to the Emerald car isle to choose a rental There were only three cars available, a large van type of automobile that was way too much car for the three of us and we were going to drive a good distance to the Grand Canyon so I wanted small fuel efficiency The other two cars were Nissans, not Altima, one without a license plate and so we took the one remaining. Manual crank Windows, manual locks, are you kidding me? This car didn't even ring when the headlights were still on when you turn the car off. Driving to the Grand Canyon was ridiculous in this car which seemed like a 2 cylinder screaming to get to or even maintain speed for the highway which for highways that average 65mph limit was like riding s bike on a indie car race track When I dropped it off and stated this all to the guy who asked "How was everything", he said "next time you should go to one of the other isles and pick a car from there". How would I assume I could simple take a platinum car when that is not my status? Additionally why would they even have a car like this in their lineup, I mean manual everything in the year 2016? They charged me $450 for a piece of shit for 5 days. I chose no additional options this was just for the car/moped they gave me Going to second think my auto preference for National going forward
