| - I don't usually write a review but felt compelled because of the unfortunate experience my husband had from the time he walked in ABT's doors. One week of detox was hell for him. A slue of issues from them losing his diabetes's connector, and then them finding it and telling him he lost it, to a medical doctor telling him to shut up and be quiet. I truly believe that people who are struggling with addiction should be treated like human beings, and not berated, disrespected, demeaned and told to shut up and be quiet. Dr's words"you don't know anything, because if you did you won't be here". My husband felt like this program was for young people ages 20-25yrs. Maybe that's a practice that's good for people who don't have a lot of experience with life. Nonetheless, if you are older this program might not be the right one for you. My husband is 54 and has struggles with his addiction for over 25 years, older then ABT's average client. With that said, I was able to get him transferred to another recovery center. Lastly, upon his exit they forgot to pack his insulin. I would've thought something so pertinent as medication would no be a priority, but no it wasn't. He waited at the airport hoping they'd bring it to him before he flew out, but no they said they'd overnight mail it to his next destination...He's been at the new recovery center for 2 days and his medication still hasn't arrived.
