So my first trip ever to my New Walmart (just moved), will be my last. Mind you my old Walmart was 5 min from my house there 2 or 3 times a day, it was Walmart long lines and no one to help you etc., but darn it I liked it.
I am that person that you hate being in front you because I ad match, living on a budget here. Today I hated being ME, I did
not have paper ads with me cause my mail was stolen. I went online and got my items and even knew what page they were on if there were any questions. Silly me, they looked up every single item I had OMG, come on don't you know some of this stuff by heart now? I have NEVER had any one look up every item took me over an hour to check out my ice cream was melted (went at 6:30 am).
This was horrible customer service to the people in line behind me . I have been ad matching for most of my adult life which is 20+ years and learned today that Walmart no longer matches stores brand for store brand. According to Rosa the store manager that has worked there for 25 years they stopped 2 months ago or so. I asked where the signage was or how was notification given to consumers and was told was in the website. Stupid me!!! why did I not think to check the website for store changes before going. Mind you when I asked Nix the cashier for a manager it took 15 minutes for her to respond. The previous customer needed a manager also and I was in line 10 minutes before she came. I told Rosa it was odd that I ad matched
store brands last week. She told me they needed to do better employee education (not her words).
I commented on the length of time it took for her to respond and she said busy. Never mind I had seen her walk by 2 times and had to physically attract her attention to get her to stop this time. She said they have 4 registers open and only her I commented on understaffed she replied no. Rosa basically told me I was wasting her time and there was a lady in customer service that needed her. I could see the customer from the register and we had a rather loud conversation on customer service this morning. Turns out she had been waiting for approx. an hour for her issue.
This Walmart was also out of items that I wanted. I can see something here or there but this was a little much. Going down an aisle I heard an employee tell a customer that inventory said there were 5 on hand, she could check the back for her. Excellent customer service from her and some insight as to the stocking issue, maybe we need to do some merchandise inventory.
As I said first and LAST trip to this store.
