  • I would classify this as a tourist trap, not sure how other yelpers are giving it such high ratings. Mostly just a collection of artifacts and tidbits about Montreal in an old house, none of it particularly interesting. It is not a restored house with furnishings, etc, so you can't even enjoy the museum as a beautiful old house. In the basement, they are trying to give you a sense of home people lived in an earlier time, but the audio is boring and you have to stand and listen via wired headphones, which is a pain. The garden is charming, but it is small and when I was there it was full of kids running around going buck-*ss wild, so not very peaceful or enjoyable. BTW, I don't think I have ever given a museum less than three stars before, but like I said this is really just a tourist trap designed to get people's money not as a legit museum trying to educate, etc.
