| - Do not be late for this show. That is my number one piece of advice because if you are late you will miss a beautiful beginning that really sets the mood. Be prompt people.
This show leaves me a little speechless, which does not happen too often. I have seen it twice, and I really adore every little detail. For me, that is where Cirque really excels--attention to detail. Every costume, every brush of makeup, every prop works together to create an amazing surreal landscape. There are no distractions from the fantasy, and I think O does this exceptionally well. I don't want to give away any details, but there are some really exquisite props throughout the course of the show. The storyline is close to non-existent, but visually the show is a masterpiece. If you go expecting a really pretty show with a nice story, you may be disappointed, but if you are open minded and appreciate creativity, you will be impressed. There are some dark moments, but the tension between dark and light is well done.
Of course, the real stars of the show are the stage and the performers. Again, I personally do not like to give away the most important details, as the show is much more thrilling without knowing exactly what you are in for. However, the stage is a marvel in and of itself; the technology and ingenuity are inspiring.
The strength, agility and stamina of the performers are astounding. I know there are a lot of contortionists, but the contortionists in the O show are the best I have seen. All of the other performers are talented as well. Actually, probably my favorite performers are the clowns. They are the comedic relief, and they are hilarious. They had my aunt in tears with their cute antics. The best comedic relief I have seen on the Strip.
I always recommend O. For me, it is a visual masterpiece with a good balance of "circus". Breathtaking and beautiful with some darn cute clowns.
