  • I used Paint Masters, LLC after receiving multiple other quotes (at least 5). Steve was very professional. However, the person who does the walk-through beforehand is someone else that is not Steve (my guess is he has multiple people). From here, there is yet another crew that comes and does the paint job (again, my guess is he has multiple crews). Here was my issue: I left the house for a few hours while they were painting the entire interior of the home. When I came back, my stuff in the garage appeared to have been rummaged through. I had a box full of pictures which was clearly rummaged through as the pictures were in disarray when I returned. To check to see if anything else had been rummaged through (because the pictures were simply the most obvious, as they no longer were fitting in the tight-fitting box which I packed them to preserve their integrity), my cd case had been opened (I would not pack a cd case opened...) and likely some dvds taken out. As I do not keep an inventory of my dvds I cannot be certain of what is missing. In another bag (duffle bag), I had an award which was damaged and needed to replace the glass. Was something else taken? I don't know. What I do know is that there were four gentleman who I confronted about this at the end of the job, no one taking responsibility. So what happened? Paint job was good, but I would never hire a person that I need to watch at every moment. They rummaged through my stuff and I have no idea how much or what was taken. EDIT in response to Steve the Owner's comments: Item 3) Some of which you stated is untrue. Some of the crew informed me they had only just been in the US a few months - based on that the 7 years is impossible... Item 4) Yes. You called and asked if everything was up to standards. I responded yes and paid in full. The reason I did this was because I confronted the gentleman about the issue and it was denied. Additionally, one of the gentlemen gave me an uneasy/threatening look and asked if I lived at the home and if I would continue to be living there. In response to the after items... Because of the threatening looks/questions I decided to wait until the home sold to contact Steve. The home was only on the market a total of 6 days - I am certain the paint job helped. And to the allegation that others were on property is false. No one else was on site and the only other company that was going to be (the following week) was a carpeter who does all of the work himself with one or two other hands and had carpeted the house in the past...no subcontractors or even other workmen ever on site without him the owner present. But again - he was not there...he was coming the week after for carpet and the measurements had been taken long ago. I left in the morning when the painters arrived, and when I returned around 5 hours later, my stuff in the garage had been rummaged through. From the point I contacted he was very concerned. He backed up his crew saying that they are responsible and would never do such a thing but also wanted to 'make it right'. He informed me he would speak with his team again and call me the next day to discuss with his crew and how to make it right, but I never received a call. I waited around a week (do not remember exactly how long) to leave the review and then Steve contacted me saying that the crew was sick/regretted not calling me the next day. He said he would do almost anything to 'make it right' (and feared the oh so terrible Yelp review), which I do respect, but unfortunately, this is just a bad situation all around. I hope nothing like this ever happens to anyone, and in the scheme of things...nothing too bad even happened to me except a broken picture, a little damage to some other pictures/artwork, and maybe some already nearly worthless dvds missing...but I really don't know! I do not keep an inventory of my many dvds, nor of my stuff... I don't have many valuables... I do not blame Steve for believing his crew about the 'subcontractor', but it is false, nor for defending himself here. However, I still felt that it would be right to leave my experience as it was in my experience. I did change one aspect of the original review to be from the paint job being OK to good - because it was. As I have stated before - the paint job was good and Steve has tried to 'make it right'.
