| - The food was very good, the place is pretty cool, and the wait staff is on-point. So why the two stars? I made a reservation via open table, which the restaurant's website practically requires you to do (not the best website, btw). I made the reservation well in advance. This place was so highly recommended to me that we drove nearly an hour just to experience it. We get there, check in with the hostess, she says she doesn't have our reservation. I politely assure her that we have one, and she immediately starts acting like I'm making this up. Instead of apologizing, she starts with the spiel about wait times until I pull out my phone and show her the confirmation email. Still not believing me, she grabs the phone and scrutinizes the confirmation email like she's certain that I'm wrong. After realizing that they are in fact at fault, we get a reluctant apology are asked to have a seat in the lobby.
20 minutes after our reservation time we were finally seated. While we were waiting we watched two couples that came in after us get seated immediately and a couple of other people were invited to wait in what turned out to be their bar area for happy hour while we waited. Apparently we didn't rate the same such invitation. As we were FINALLY being seated I politely told the hostess that I didn't appreciate not being given the option to wait in the bar area (again, we've never been there and you can't really see it from the lobby) or the assumption that the reservation mix-up was our fault. I receive a blank stare and an emotionless apology in return. And apparently it wasn't a priority to let anyone in management know that there was a reservation snafu, a couple of unhappy patrons, or further, for management to be proactive and check in with guests at some point like most other places of this caliber.
Again, the food was good but the hostess soured what would have been a great experience otherwise. Considering the location I had feared getting a typical Snottsdale kind of experience, and that's pretty much exactly what we got. We probably won't come back.
