  • My husband's usual barbers were away one Saturday, and in dire need of a haircut, he gave this a shot. It is a screaming bargain at $5 for a normal cut (a bit more for a fade). The haircuts are performed by at least a dozen students who are supervised by a handful of instructors. The program is intensive, requiring 1,800 hours to graduate, so your barber likely has hundreds of hours under their belt. I really like the job done on my husband, but of course your mileage may vary since it's a rotating cast of students. It's a no-frills place that probably hasn't changed in 40+ years, but $5!! for a cut by someone paying careful attention is a fabulous deal for someone willing to roll the dice. It's especially awesome for people looking or needing to save, but with all the barbers at work, it's also a great place for someone who hates waiting for a cut.
