  • I had been recommended to a particular vet. I wasn't aware that he worked in a Banfield in a Petco... I had heard nothing but negative reviews regarding Banfields so I was a little turned off but I really trusted the person that referred me. I made an appt and did really like the doctor. Once I got comfortable I decided to try other banfields as I was traveling almost 45 mins and passing many others much closer to me. My husband had taken our dog to this location for sub que fluids and said his experience was fine. At his first visit, he paid for office visit, blood work and fluids. They had recommended we come back for fluids within a few weeks. Two weeks later we did. We dropped him off and were told to come back 15 mins later. After walking out the door we got a call that they wanted to make sure we understood the fees? It felt a little shady that they didn't disclose upfront and were calling us after we already left our dog in their care. My husband was upset because that is not what the vet had discussed with him and if someone was to review our file ahead of time, they would have seen we had been in several times (at least 5) for fluids alone and had never been charged for additional "office visits". The cashier was trying to be nice and I could tell she was the messenger. She said a different vet was in then we had previously seen and this particular vet required the office fee. We disagreed with how we were being treated. When we returned 15 mins later a nurse was standing there with the rudest glare. I said hello, thanked the cashier for resolving the misunderstanding and the nurse never once acknowledged me as she handed me my dog. It upset me so bad because I understand she's upset about not getting the office fee from us, but wow have some human decency and say hello. Furthermore, after she handed me my dog I saw her make notes about us on a post it. Right in front of me? How rude can you be?? Needless to say, we will NEVER return or refer anyone we know to any Banfields, especially this one. What I would like for someone to communicate to the staff is to be kind because you don't know what someone is going through. My husband and I were emotional because we had made the decision to put our dog down which we wanted to discuss with them but after our experience, I couldn't fathom going back there. If they were this rude for a routine fluid, how would they treat us when we were making the toughest decision of our lives???
