First off I want to say that Filipino Torontoians have been waiting for this forever! Even though the place was packed and the lines were long, it was nice to see the large Toronto Filipino community come together into one location. Even all of the staff are all Filipino! As a Filipino Born in Canada it was also nice to see all the Filipino brands, snacks and treats. The only Filipino brands that I've really been exposed to growing up we're all scattered in different Asian markets across the city. Friendly service with a smile. One of the staff members noticed his hands getting full of goods and offered to get him a basket.
As for the hot foods for takeout at Grill City, I ordered two skewers of Pork BBQ. Although it was pricey, the pieces were big. Gave some for mom to try and she said the flavours remind her of back home. They aren't afraid of leaving lots of fat on the meat so heads up if that's not your thing. Also, tried the grilled squid which I found very tender and well seasoned.
Overall I enjoyed my experience at Seafood City and the nostalgia it brought. I've been to the location in Honolulu and it definitely holds up.
