| - I may have a problem. I find something that I love and then I keep coming back and ordering that special something until either my brain explodes or the location stops making it the same way. Generally, it's the latter.
Back in the day, I used to go to Pizzafarro's in Scottsdale all the time. I'm a Chicago food girl who's always looking for a delicious deep dish pizza and, boy, did I ever find it there. Always a sausage and onion deep dish that took forever to bake, but so worth the wait. Then they closed down. I was heartbroken. Or maybe stomach broken? Perhaps even taste bud broken. That is, until I found out recently that the original Pizzafarro's was still available at my disposal. Huzzah! Pizza, please!
The half hour drive to do a pick up order in Carefree was nothing. When we got there, the place was pretty empty, but was charming and cozy. Might need a little bit of a décor update. With our pizza, we also grabbed a four pack of bottled root beer for the ride back.
The deep dish I was looking forward to was light and airy with a crispy crust and tasty ingredients. The pizza I ate was heavy, a little undercooked, and all-around unimpressive. Memories? Consider yourself shattered. I'm sure their thin crust pizza is fine, but I probably won't be the one to seek it out.
