  • While I was visiting TO, my cousin suggested we check out REBEL night club. I frequently go out in Montreal, so I was down to party. My cousin told us we have to get there early to get guestlist, otherwise after midnight, there's a $20 cover charge. Fair, but back in Montreal, we almost never pay for cover. Good: The location is a bit out of the way, but once you arrive, you have a gorgeous view of the city's skyline. The venue itself is very spacious and clean. The interior is over the top, high ceiling and all, a grand scene as you would expect from a Vegas night club. Overall, very impressive interior design for a night club. It was a cool visual experience with dancers and performers. Bad: I wasn't a big fan of the music, it was a mix of hip hop and EDM. This wasn't a deal breaker as I would still dance to any music. It's not on a major street so you have to pay $20 to park your car. It started going downhill when I walked my sister out the club to her friend's car. When I exited, there was no bouncers by the doors (I would ask to get stamped before exiting as this is almost standard, but when I got outside, I thought there would be someone, but no one was there. I had to walk to another door and I told the bouncer that I was just inside and no one was by the doors to stamp me, and I just wanted to go back inside. He asked why I didn't go see him first prior I exit, and I explained that I exit from the doors on the right side (with no bouncers) and that he was at the left side, so there was no way for me to see him until I got outside. He told me that I needed a ticket ($20 cover charge?!) to get back inside, so I explained that I don't have my jacket and I don't have my wallet either because it's with my friends inside, so how can I get another ticket?! Annoyed at his incompetence, I had asked the four female staffs chatting amongst themselves at the entrance and explained my situation. They told me that they had no tickets and I should try talking to the bouncer (yeah, because that went well). I explained that they wouldn't let me back, and the girls told me they can't do anything. I just stood there annoyed, and I can tell they wanted to continue chatting but my presence was making them uncomfortable and probably ruining their vibe. Finally one girl offered to walk me back inside, but by the time I got back in, my mood was pretty much ruined, so my group decided to leave too. Bottom line: I think the club itself is very nice. I've had a pretty shitty experience with their staff so I don't think I would go back.
