| - Reading through the reviews on this location, I'm really not surprised that the same thing happened to me as others.
I went in to have a leak inspected. They took a look at that and also performed a routine inspection.
Needless to say, the inspection comes back and it's you need these things X,Y, and Z. The quote to have all of the repairs completed that my car "desperately" needed was over $2000.
The one I was most concerned about was the rear brakes and rotors. They said that they needed to be replaced immediately or I was in danger of having failed brakes and wrecking my car.
So I was pretty spooked and really wanted to have my brakes replaced, because it's a a safety concern, right?
Well they give me a quote for the brakes and it comes out to over $700!! And I'm like, nope. Good thing is, I have a family friend that has been a Mechanic his entire life. So I ask him for help replacing my rear brakes and rotors. I go buy the parts, cost me like $100 for everything and we go to his shop to replace them. He pulls off the tire and is immediately like, "What the heck were they telling you? Your rear brakes are almost brand new!!" (I purchased this car used about 6 months earlier).
So I showed him the quote they gave me with all of the repairs my car "just needed to have". Turns out my car is actually in really great shape. And these bozos think that because I'm ignorant to automotive repairs they can take advantage of me. NEVER AGAIN. I will NEVER return to Firestone. There are so many different places to get car work done, but at least I know now that Firestone can't be trusted.
Never again.
