I purchased a certified 2014 Corvette on May 10th, drove it to California on May 12th and stopped in Baker at a drive-thru. After waiting for 5 minutes in line in 95 degree heat the Corvette temp jumped to the first of two red lines (just below 265 degrees). We turned the vehicle off and allowed the electric fans to cool it off. I checked the coolant tank and found that it was empty. We also noticed that the oil was due for an oil change 1000 miles before we purchased it based on the oil change sticker and verified by the oil life remaining readout. Both the coolant and the engine oil are checklist items on the 172 point vehicle inspection and reconditioning checklist for certified pre-owned Chevrolet vehicles and are certified as being checked by the technician, service manager and used vehicle manager. If these two things that are so easy to check were overlooked I wonder what else was missed by the Findlay used car team. I would have given them 1 star but our salesman DJ was outstanding.
