| - Amazing... honestly... don't have a better word to express my happiness with this location. Our purpose for being there? We had a social event with 52 people and booked half of the upstairs area. First, the area was spacious, could have held 70 of us very comfortably, had a great variety of seating (booths, high tables, low tables), and full access to the bar with 2 bartenders and 1 server to support our evening. Upon arrival, the venue was not set up how we wanted, so the staff swung into action and within minutes, it was perfect. Throughout the rest of the evening, the drinks were perfect, the microphone and tv's made our game run flawlessly, and the food was... INCREDIBLE. I mean - the quantity was beyond impressive. I highly recommend the chicken fingers (we expected tiny pre-frozen morsels; what we got were huge, freshly made "fingers" that were crispy and juicy), the deep fried pickles (huge, sour on the inside, crispy on the outside) and the bbq flatbread (loaded with cheese, chicken and bbq sauce). We had nothing to worry about - the platters ordered were very good portions, all presented beautifully, and delicious. OH and working with Elise for months before AND during was a breeze. She facilitated the process perfectly. Despite the restaurant being full downstairs, we had a very private but easy-to-find location that was right beside the subway. Will we go again? you betcha! The next event will certainly be held at the firkin on bloor if it's available. Honestly, the staff members there that night - on the ball! Plates added and removed within seconds, and without notice. Every one of our guests were raving. Great work, Elise and the firkin on bloor team! (Wednesday night, October 25th)
