| - We went after reading many good reviews about this place.
I love the decor, creative use of the space. It's modern yet welcoming. I mostly like the sink. They use round bottom cooking pans (these are the common pans used in Asian countries, I guess). It's a brilliant idea.
This place is not a good place to bring your babies nor toddlers, for sure. The space inside is pretty small and pack. The tables in the main dining room are all high top tables. Maybe if the weather is nice, you can bring your kids along and sit outside.
The food was great. We ordered a few spring rolls (Buddha - w/shitake, Enlighten Me - w/tofu, Spider - w/ soft shell crab, and Salmon). Each roll came with different sauce which I couldn't remember what goes with what.
The rolls were very light and refreshing. There was no pretending, the ingredients simply spoke for itself. I just feel it needed a little sauce inside to make it more unique in taste.
Then, I ordered the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi and my husband ordered the Shaking Beef.
My Grilled Chicken Banh Mi was good but I've had better. It was a little dry, I wished for a little sauce or au jus. The chicken itself was pretty tasty. If you don't like fish sauce that much, you probably won't like this chicken because you can smell the fish sauce right away when they sit the plate down in front of you.
I chose the garlic fries for the side. It was delish....LOVE it! I think they sprinkled some Parmesan cheese that make it very tasty. They served the plate with ketchup and spicy mayo (I think) on the side. I loved the spicy mayo a lot, I asked for some to go.
My husband's Shaking Beef was served in a hot sizzling plate with rice and shitake mushrooms. I only tasted the sauce but didn't try the beef itself. The sauce reminded me of Teriyaki sauce. My husband said that the beef were pink inside, which he loved.
Service was good, staffs were friendly. We didn't really chat with our server because we were too occupied by our 17 months old. In our next visit, we're leaving her with her sitter.
Great place for night out!
