  • I was looking for a small custom cake for my husband's 40th Birthday which also happens to be on Halloween. We just moved to the area, so I looked online and came across their website. All of the examples looked really professional and I was super impressed. I looked at their Facebook page too and was blown away by many of the examples they recently posted. The ordering process was odd. I wrote to them, they told me to call. I called, they told me to send pictures via email. I emailed, they told me to call again. I was sent a little drawing and expressed both via email and on the phone that I was concerned the cake would look strange with his name just written on top. I was told not to worry, they would explain it to the person decorating and they would make it look good. From what I saw online I had no reason to worry. My fear was a reality though. When I picked it up, I noticed his name was just oddly written on top with a bunch of white space as if it was not finished. It reminds me of a pre-made cake someone just quickly wrote a name on, not something custom ordered. It looks like it was done first with some type of marker that bled on the white icing and then was traced over with black frosting. It looks armature... definitely not what you would expect after seeing the examples they post online. A grocery store would have done a similar job. I will say the little custom fondant candy corn figure turned out really cute and exactly how I imagined/described (it really was adorable) and the cake itself is the colors I specified. At pickup she put it in the box really fast, so I did not get a good closeup look at the shop. I don't like confrontation (and from other reviews I see that does not go over well at this place) so I was not going to complain. On the inside I was disappointed though. I would be embarrassed if this was a bigger version for a party, but thankfully it is just a little surprise for him which is why I wanted such a small size. I very much doubt this will make the online gallery or their FB page, so just beware. I covered up his name and decorated the top myself to make it look better. I know better about what to expect if I ever place another order and I think I would needed to be more specific. Also updated my review to reflect the flavor and quality of the cake (lemon and raspberry filling) was very good and fresh.
