| - This South American grill has all the right stuff! Wow, what a genuine Peruvian experience with quality food, fair prices, and top notch service!!
Our server Antonio knows how to provide service. He was attentive to details, knowledgeable about the food/menu and culture, and didn't let us want for anything without a responsive inquiry or suggestion.
The food had a perfect blend of favors, herbs, and meats. I had the Lomo Saltado as my main entree. It has beef tenderloin strips sautéed with onions over French fries. It comes with white rice. The meat was tender and seasoned to perfection. The combination of tomatoes, onions with potatoes really complemented the entree.
For an appetizer, we shared the fried yucca root called Yuquitas Fritas. It was crispy and came with a delicious sauce. I definitely recommend it. They also provided us with a small serving of Peruvian roasted corn, similar to corn nuts, along with a Aji dipping sauce. This was good. Also, I had two glasses of the passion fruit juice. I really liked it!
I sampled from my friends dish too. He was adventurous and tried a combination plate that included marinated chicken, beef, and cow heart. Initially, I was not thinking I would try the cow heart, but it seemed harmless enough. To my surprise it was fabulous!! Honestly, you need to put it on your bucket list of things to try.
The restaurant was beautifully adorned with Peruvian artifacts and art. The place was comfortable and clean. It's a small place and not very noisy. I felt like a queen for an evening dinning out at Mi Peru with my special friend. This is a place that I will return to.
