| - Average and sometimes ill-prepared steaks, best late-night menu in Madison, classy place with excellent service.
I've had the t-bone and the strip. Nothing wrong with either, though the t-bone was a little 'blue' near the bone, and the strip inexplicably lacked marbling or robust flavor. They're not especially seared or charred, not overly seasoned, and not 'prime'. So what you end up with is a fairly large, not terribly priced steak that's unfortunately a little bland.
That said, I think their hash browns, which come in a strange circular pillow formation, are just about the best hash browns I've ever had, and this is compared to literally dozens of other interpretations over the years. I also like their bread basket, almost certainly the best in town. They also have amazing burgers and steak fries after 10pm.
Not positive that I'd recommend this place unless someone wanted good atmosphere and a seriously large chunk of cow...and wasn't too picky.
