I have a similar experience to some of the others here. I initially saw this group for some long over due work. Due to lack of insurance I have not had the best track record of being seen. On my first visit the front desk staff was very nice. Then one of the dental assistants came and got me. Don't remember his name. Black dude from Cali. Completely cool and completely down to earth. I honestly have never met someone more personable.
So of course after my meeting with the front desk people and the assistant I became comfortable. The assistant did my ex-rays and him and I shot the shit it was actually a good time, taking into account my huge fear of dentists (the first dentist I remember going to age 5 the dentist joked about drilling out the back of my throat). I also ensured I let them know this since I am a big guy who typically is not afraid of anything and I didn't want to accidentally hurt someone if I freaked out.
The "dentist" little Asian guy with 0 bed side manner came in and with out hesitation immediately started off the conversation with all my teeth needed to be ripped out (including my crowns) and all my teeth needed to be replaced with implants. Well of course in shock I didn't know what to say. So I am not a stupid person. I myself am pretty educated and this didn't sound right to me.
So I told him my thoughts and opinions he then decided to take some instruments and poke around my mouth calling off the teeth he found to be not worth saving to his dental assistant. He still stuck to his original story I needed all my teeth ripped out and replaced by implants at the low low cost of 50,000 dollars.
I left this appointment feeling very lost and confused and freaked out.
coincidently exactly one week later after he probed my mouth with his tools I acquired a massive infection which resulted in surgery. The tooth was pulled and I healed. I then with the surgeon scheduled an appointment to remove two other teeth which was supposed to happen on December 2nd. I scheduled this appointment with the surgeon around November 2nd.
Out of sheer Devine luck I lost my job the Friday before thanksgiving. Also out of sheer luck thanks giving day i broke my k9 thanks giving day on a bone. The following day then office was closed so I had to wait until the 28th of November to call the office. The front desk girl was very empathetic and accommodating. I explained my situation that I lost my job and my insurance was to expire on the 30th which was 2 days away. She scheduled me for the 29th at 1pm.
Going back to my previous concerns about all my teeth needed to be replaced my k9 was one that after further review the little Asian dentist agreed I could put a crown on. Now fast forward to this visit I was hoping we could go ahead and do the crown since I was booked.
They took my for X-rays and pictures then the little Asian dentist came in the room. With no hesitation came back to unneeded an implant. I could not afford an implant and brought up the fact my insurance was to expire in 1 day. I asked him to review the situation again. He refused and was very insistent that a implant was the only way to go.
I did not have the other 4000k dollars for the implant and again asked him if there was anything else we could do. He assured me that his "professional experience" was in undeniable and my only option was an implant and he was all knowing.
Well I left with a broken tooth and 0 help and 0 ideas. So i called another office. I called rainsprings dental off rainbow and warm springs. They got me in at 3 pm. They took x-rays and the dentist insaw at that office said I did not need an implant. He said I would get a crown and it would be just fine. Unfortunately my insurance was only good for one more day and they were completely booked the following day.
So long story short avoid this office if you need anything other than a cleaning or something simple. I am convinced after reading the other reviews this office will not do do anything to help patiences other than try and sell them implants. My best guess is this "dentist" at least the little Asian "dentist" doesn't have a clue what he's doing so he passes all the work off on their surgeon and sticks to the easy things.
Here I am. Insurance expired and I still have a broken k9. I regret ever going to this place. Please avoid at all costs. Call rainsprings dental or someone else.
By the way I would like to add. By the time I find a job and get insurance I will probably need an implant. Thanks mountain dental for making my situation worse. Happy holidays.
