| - Buying or leasing a car is by far, the worst process one has to go through in my opinion, so giving a full 5 star rating is very hard to do. At camelback Hyundai, my experience was ok, not the best and not the worst.
I had made appointments online through my employer Discount program day after thanksgiving 2016 and got a call from camelback Hyundai to go and checkout the car. I did, loved an Elantra that I wanted to get and my experience with my salesman was average. He did talk a lot but it was all about the car and its features. He did however miss a couple of things, most importantly the model of the vehicle, he pushed it as a "sports" edition and after I get it and go home and review everything it was not (that was okay for me as I didn't care for it, but it could have been problematic for others). His manager was nickel and dime-ing me to the point we were disagreeing on the payment and were stuck on 1 dollar and he said it was the principle, turned off by his comment, but it was too late and finally we agreed on a price I was comfortable with, then when we were signing the final paper my salesman brought a sheet to submit to finance that said the amount we agreed on + 0.97 cents and at that point I was ready to walk out, and informed my salesman to go tell his manager "what about the principle he was talking about?" The excuse was that with finance there had to be some cents which finally they took care of on paper but didn't tell the finance person so it showed there as well and got taken care of.
The car was great but it was as I said late during the day, it was clean and the car color is black, by the time I got home and the next Morning I noticed many scratches that I am stuck with mow (still okay with it, I can get that fixed, but really wish they had taken care of it).
Lastly I think their rate explanation needs to be better, I had a discount through my employer and it was no where explained on the final sheet, all there was is a line item that said rebate or discount. And when I asked about it they said it's bundled up with their rebate. I would have rather seen my employer discount as a separate line item so I know it was applied. Sorry, after my experience I don't trust you guys!
Finally there was a big scratch inside the car where the gear shift is (the part that the P. R. D. N. Letters are) and they said it can be replaced. That experience was on a different day and I would like to say that service people rubbed off as rude and careless. I didn't get greeted, didn't get even a smile and when I asked for the person I had the appointment with, I got her name wrong and all I got was "no one here with that name" and when I got closer to the name "Kerri" the gentleman leaves and doesn't say "ok I know who it is, please follow me, or I'll be right back" just left. So naturally I followed him and there was Keri, a very helpful and bright lady who helped me through the whole process. If I could I'd give her 10 stars. Thanks for a great experience Keri.
My car is a lease so to certain extend I have to come back here, but if it were a choice I would go to another Hyundai dealer.
