  • I live in the Washington DC suburbs but grew up in the Badger State and was home visiting friends. Right before I left I stopped to get gas, next to the MouseHouse CheeseHouse between Madison and DeForest. It looked like a souvenir place where I could buy some Packers paraphernalia. While inside browsing among the brats and cheesecurds, I saw a display stand of J Henry Bourbon. Having never consumed bourbon from WI, I bought a bottle, and passed on the brats and cheesecurds. Fast forward 36 hours, home in Northern VA. I cracked the bottle open for a taste. I was pleased beyond words! I enjoy the mellow tang of a Jack Daniels or Woodford Reserve. The best is the exploding warmth in the belly, without burning. J Henry matched that savory sensation, but it had a better flavor than either. Hats off Cheeseheads!! What a surprise! Next time I come back, I'm coming for a tour!
