  • We were members for many years. Whereas some products didn't seem like a very good price, the cabinets and discounts on tile and Shun knives were very good pricing. We also got an amazingly good price on an expensive smoker. A new owner bought the Tempe Direct buy and really destroyed it. Tried to get cabinets through them and was not able to see the book to check the pricing until AFTER i hired the guy to design. He (Steve) had assured me that we could get the cabinets to come in on budget....then he gave us the plans (after excruciating attempts to get them...over two weeks past when he said they would be done) and the pricing was close to double what he said he could get them. This amount was ridiculous. The last kitchen we redid using Direct Buy, was easily twice the size...and we used much higher quality cabinets...and the price was the SAME as what the new, much smaller kitchen using the lower grade cabinets. So, I wasted $350, because of the incompetent and shady kitchen designer. After years of promoting Direct Buy, I have discontinued my membership. The Tempe Direct Buy has been sold...again...and is now in far north Scottsdale. It is a beautiful showroom. But, the new owners kept many of the people that had made the old one so sketchy. No thank you!
