  • I've always stayed on the strip when visiting Vegas, which is great; however, this past visit I was looking for an entertaining place, with better chances at winning money playing blackjack, and away from all of the over-crowdedness of the strip. I found it downtown. The Plaza hotel was a fantastic find. It's at the beginning of Fremont street, and offers a lot of fun amenities. My girlfriend and I were selected to be on the game show, "Lovers or Losers," which was a lot of fun. We played blackjack for about 7 hours, and had a blast with the dealers. Although all the dealers we encountered were great, our favorite dealer by far was OB. If you ever play here, look for him. He is awesome! Oh, and get all the free Long Island iced teas you can. We are definitely going to visit again and choose the Plaza Hotel. It's not ritzy like the hotels on the strip, but it doesn't matter. It's clean, the staff is friendly, it isn't over crowded, it's got really good food, and it's a lot cheaper. Also, take a swim with the sharks at the Gold Nugget, and go down the slide.
