  • First of all, long wait, but a lot of urgent cares are like this. But my main complaint is that I am not a person to rush to antibiotics when I get a URI (upper respiratory infection). I am a healthcare provider and I know most URIs are viral and last an average of 7-14 days, I came in on day 3. So I just wanted cough medication when I came in, turned down the antibiotic offered to me, and the provider offered to call one in later if I needed one. However, when I called back at day 15, because it was over the average viral URI time period, they will not call me in one, and say I have to come back. That is a little ridiculous! They are basically penalizing me because I didn't jump at getting an antibiotic the first two days I was sick! This kind of system encourages improper antibiotic use and won't give them when you actually need them!
