| - I came here on a late Monday night with my parents, I wanted them to experience Snakes & Lattes but it was closed for a staff party. It was bright and I liked the atmosphere (walls had a nice forest motif, brightly lit, spacious so you don't feel like you're right next to another party, large tables and couches to accommodate large parties, and hey had Tame Impala playing).
We went here with no intention of playing board games, so it was nice that the server didn't charge us that $2.50/hour per person sitting fee. By looking at their menu, right off the bat I noticed that there were many large differences between them and their competitor up the street. The menu offerings are very limited and didn't sound too appealing; and by looking at their cafe/kitchen space I knew that they couldn't offer a lot. I wouldn't come here for food, I think they offer 1-3 very basic sandwiches prepared ahead of time on a panini press and because of that, I can't justify the price. We ordered three lattes and it was drinkable, but not the best.
At the time there were only two people working there; the barista who seems to be manning the panini press/waffle maker/espresso machine (aka the kitchen), washing dishes, and the young waiter who had to do everything else. The waiter was awkward and inattentive. I get it, maybe it was his first gig, but when it comes to Waiting Tables 101, maybe you could come visit my table once or twice so I don't have to fetch you for sugar and the bill. Seems like a sweet kid.
I would come here again because the wait times are shorter and they serve beer, but with low expectations. I will also make sure I eat ahead of time!
