| - Happy Cake House has a wide range goods and is open later than most bakeries. When I visit, Im all about their peanut "snowball" (crunchy peanut wrapped in chewy rice flour, topped with a layer of coconut on the outside), their ube/taro pastry, and their walnut almond bun. They also do really good mango and taro pudding and they're the only Asian bakery I know in Mississauga who does a durian custard bun (on weekends). Their buns are always fresh and though it does cost a bit more than others in the area, I appreciate the later hours and the variety of buns.
Edit: I custom ordered a durian cake from HCH, and the pickup date happened to be today---when an explosion levelled parts of the strip mall across street, forcing the closure of the plaza and the entire block. Instead of just locking up shop and heading home, staff called and asked me to come as soon as I could, advising the shop had to close, but that they would wait for me to get there to hand deliver the cake via their back entrance as promised. This exceptional generosity made me feel so fortunate to have a mom and pop business that not only makes fresh food, but is dedicated to providing incredible, out-of-this-world service. Thank you!
