I went in around November, and was pleasantly surprised when I was offered a glass of wine by the staff (what service!) ... I was then overwhelmed by the variety of treasures available here. From the unique and inspired work of modern artists, to gorgeously-restored antiques (some of which are 300+ years old).
Personally, the antiques were the draw. So I wandered over to the other half of the gallery, and instantly, I fell in love with an apothecary cabinet imported from China and wonderfully restored -- the rich, dark wood worn silky-smooth by time.
Thankfully, my man noticed me admiring the piece. It appeared in my living room for Christmas. By far my most prized possession, it now sits regally in the room like an old friend, its presence golden and warm.
(I plan to go back and find some friends for it in over next few years.)
