I went to Fry and Purchased A gaming PC at 2:30 PM today (open box item), the total cost was 1003.71 and we paind cash. It was for my son and he purchased with his own money. We go home and opened it and notice the Key Board and mouse were from a different brand PC, We took it out of the box and notice the cooling fan was off the mother board and it looked like it was tampered with. We boxed everything back up and went back to Fry's to return it. COme to fine out, the product we purchased was not the product that was in the box, The memory, graphics card and hard drive were all swapped out for cheap quality products.So our refund was approved! I went back to customer service to get our money, and they told me since we paid cash and it was more then $500.00 they could not refund our money and they would ahve to send us a check and we would get it in about 15 days.I said I want my money now! you are seeling me a product and that not was in the box. She said they just ship us the product and we seel it, its not our fault! I lost my mind and cursed a little. Asked for the mangaer and the girl said she was a manager and none of the other managers would be able to do anything about it because it is their policy that they cannot return in cash over $500.00. After getting pissed and arguing I realized she was not going to change her mind or get another manager. So I reluctantly agreed to take the check and while they were entering the info i could hear the manger saying just loud enough so i could hear " oh so they put a better mouse and key board in the bix and he is complaining" I made sure to tell her that that was not the problem, the issue was all of the lower quality parts.
So I purchased a PC and when I got home the PC that was in the box was much lower quality and not what was on the label. I believe this is called FRAUD!
I will never shop there again.
