I recently paid a visit to a cousin in Arizona for his college graduation and decided to hit up a couple of breweries during my stay. While a good number of them were pretty underwhelming, Fate Brewing Company was the best one I went to.
Fate also happens to be a brewpub, meaning that they also make food in addition to brewing beer. While the large wood-fire pizza oven they had in the back made me tempted order a slice, I decided to stick to the beers and ordered myself a tasting flight.
And boy were they some good beers. While I won't bore you with a complete rundown of the beers I had I'll mention the two standouts: the Suburnt Sour and the Shea Connection.
The Sunburt was one of the better sour beers I have had. Unlike most other sour beers, the Suburt had other flavors you can taste besides the tartness. The Shea Connection was a collaboration brew Fate did with Scottsdale Beer Company and it had a great rye flavor with just a subtle hint of oak.
The tasting room/restaurant had a nice modern feel to it with ample seating. There are TVs on the wall where you can watch whatever sports game they have playing at the time and the service was attentive and friendly.
If you ever find yourself in Scottsdale, Arizona make sure to hit up Fate Brewing Company. You won't regret it.
