I saw the sign on the curb advertising "blow dry bar" $25. However I go to "blow dry bars" 3-4 times a month either here or when I travel for work.
I had tried this salon years ago and was underwhelmed. However This salon is closer to my house and since it had been perhaps 5 yrs since I had been there -- I thought I'd give it a try for a blow dry.
I ask receptionist for a deep conditioner and she said "oh that will be $35. (just for conditioner)
I declined.
Stylist Julee said they had another for $10.
So she expressly said the blow dry style and conditioner would be $35.
(top end of a blow dry bar price range.)
She told me (!)what I wanted as far as style and as she started I corrected her.
no consult.
As I checked out the bill was $45. plus tip.
It dawned on me in the car how wrong it was. I called the salon and she flippantly said "well you were in our system so that means it was $35. plus $10 for conditioner."
(oh, she never showed me any "special" conditioner she was using.)
Her overall customer service skills were greatly lacking as was the receptionist. The blow dry style was fair .
My bad for not confronting bill at check out and for tipping her...and for giving this place a second chance.
