Solid. The restaurant interior was pleasant. The menu was of a manageable size and had the traditional dishes. I ordered the Nishikawa black and the food did not take long to arrive. The staff was friendly and efficient.
The straight noodles were handmade, the broth was solid, the pork belly was tender. The broth and texture on the pork belly and menma put this a level above Tampopo for me. The option for a soft-boiled egg put it as a five star within the Phoenix metro area for me. I like this place. It will go into my regular rotation of dinner spots!
